Arsenal FC news: Mohamed Elneny sees red card and resulting ban picked up in Premier League clash with Southampton overturned

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has had his red card against Southampton rescinded, the Football Association have announced.

The Egyptian was sent off for violent conduct after appearing to raise his arms towards an opposing player.

Although it was difficult to ascertain just as to why Elneny was sent off, referee Andre Marriner instantly produced a straight red to give him his marching orders.

Whoever, after the Independent Regulatory Commission met on Monday, they over-turned the red card and the subsequent suspension.

A statement from the FA read: "Mohamed Elneny will be available for Arsenal’s next three games after an Independent Regulatory Commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Southampton on Sunday, April 8, 2018.
