Granit Xhaka has defended his slow start to life at Arsenal, with manager Arsene Wenger insisting the Swiss star has now adjusted to the intensity of English football.
The 24-year-old joined the Gunners in May in a £35million deal - the north London club’s third-most expensive signing in their history.
Xhaka returns to home-town club FC Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night and is expected to start against the team where he began his career.
But he has struggled to hold down a place in Wenger's first XI since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach - starting ten games in all competitions to date.
