Arsenal fans set to stay away from CSKA Moscow clash with less than 300 expected to make trip to Russia for Europa League quarter final

Fewer than 300 Arsenal fans are expected to make the trip to Moscow on Thursday night amid the backdrop of strained political relations between the United Kingdom and Russia.

The Gunners, who face CSKA Moscow, will become the first British side to play in Russia since the suspected poisoning of a double agent on UK soil, sparking the growing political feud between the two nations.

Since last month’s draw, Arsenal security chiefs have been working to ensure the safety of players, staff and supporters making the trip to Russia. Likewise, CSKA have done their utmost to ensure Arsenal fans feel safe ahead of the clash.
