Steve Morrow is a contender to replace Andries Jonker as Arsenal academy manager after the Dutchman was appointed Wolfsburg manager on Monday.
Jonker, who joined the Gunners academy in 2014, was confirmed as the struggling Bundesliga club’s new boss yesterday.
Gunners legend Freddie Ljungberg - who was coaching within Arsenal’s junior set-up on a non-contract basis - has also left the club for Wolfsburg.
Sportsmail understands Jonker’s job at Arsenal beyond this season was unclear and would have been discussed in the summer regardless of his decision to leave for Germany.
