Arsenal are preparing to increase their offer for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber after having £30million bid rejected

Arsenal are preparing to increase their offer for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

The Dutch side rejected a £30million bid earlier this week and want £50million to sell their youngster.

Timber, who was also targetted by Manchester United, is tipped to leave Ajax this summer.

Mikel Arteta is a fan of the player and appears keen to bolster his defence this summer with a move for the 22-year-old.

And now the Gunners are preparing to increase their offer for Timber as they look to bring him in during the transfer window.
