Arsenal 2-0 FC Basel: Red-hot Theo Walcott strikes twice as impressive Gunners stay top in Champions League Group A

Theo Walcott continued his fine form by netting a first-half double to set Arsenal on their way to a victory over FC Basel in the Champions League.

The England winger made it four goals in his last three Gunners appearances – taking him to five for the season – as both strikes were laid on by Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates.

It took just seven minutes for Arsene Wenger’s side to open the scoring, with Walcott netting the most uncharacteristic of goals. After good build-up play, Santi Cazorla sprayed the ball to Sanchez on the left-hand side, with the Chilean crossing a delightful ball for Walcott to powerfully head past goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik.
