After leaving Manchester City in the summer Georgia Stanway, Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze are thriving on the continent... England's European champions are now plotting a path for Champions League glory ahead of the quarter-finals

Manchester City’s loss was Europe’s gain when three of England’s European champions made moves abroad in the summer.

Georgia Stanway signed for Bayern Munich while Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze joined Spanish champions Barcelona.

While City were knocked out of the Champions League in the qualifying stage, Barca and Bayern have both made it to the last eight.

Stanway’s side have drawn Arsenal in the quarters, with the first leg taking place on Tuesday before the second leg at the Emirates on March 29.

The midfielder has quickly become a fan favourite in Munich, despite singing England’s Euro 2022 song Sweet Caroline in her initiation song in front of several German internationals - who were beaten by the Lionesses in the final.
