Fairfield, CT – The Army West Point softball team (17-35, 7-8 PL) fell to the Fairfield University Stags (17-23, 7-9 MAAC) to close out non-conference play on Wednesday. Pitcher Alicyn Grete had a strong outing in the circle with eight strikeouts while allowing four hits and no earned runs. Grete also scored the Black Knights' only run which was driven in by a Brook Mitchell RBI double.
How it Happened?
Army allowed Fairfield to jump in front early. A first inning error followed by a wild pitch allowed Charli Warren of Fairfield to advance to third and later score on a sacrifice fly to center field.
