WEST POINT, N.Y. - Madison Hovren earned her second weekly honor by being selected at the player of the week by the Met Basketball Writers Association on Tuesday.
A 5-11 senior forward from Spokane, WA, Hovren --- who also was named Patriot League player of the week --- finished with a pair of double-doubles last week, averaging 31.0 points and 18.0 rebounds, when the Black Knights (4-5) defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 62-40 at home and Wagner 61-46 on the road.
She recorded 30 points against FDU, canning 12-of-17 shots from the floor, and then registered a season-high 32 points against Wagner, hitting 10-of-17 from the field and 11-of-15 at the free throw line.
