WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior Brian Harvey of the Army West Point wrestling team has been named an Academic All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, it was announced on Monday.
Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic Team is comprised of 116 student-athletes. For the second year in a row, half of the Division I champions made the team, while two additional runner-ups were selected. In all, 36 All-Americans were All-Academic selections.
Harvey is the first wrestler in the program's 93-year history to be named an Academic All-American, and the first at the Academy since Kristen Barta from the women's swimming and diving team was recognized as a Capital One Academic All-American last year.
