Bateman Named Broyles Award Nominee

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army's defensive coordinator Jay Bateman is among 40 nominees for the Frank Broyles Award, which honors the top assistant coach in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision.

The 40 nominees in this year's class were chosen from almost 1,500 assistant coaches representing over 128 Division I college football programs.

Bateman has led an Army defense that currently ranks sixth in the nation in total defense and sixth against the pass. Army is 22nd in rushing offense this year and its 13 interceptions is 21st in the country.
