BOSTON, MA - Army West Point hockey plebe forward Barron Woodring has been named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, announced today by the league.
The Downers Grove, Illinois native played a key role in helping Army collect its first victory over a ranked opponent since 2017 in a 6-3 triumph over the 16th-ranked New Hampshire Wildcats. Woodring deposited two goals in the game, marking the first two goals of his career.
Woodring opened the scoring in front of a sold out Tate Rink on a break six minutes into the game, before scoring the eventual game-winner in the second period taking a pass on a break from Lucas Kanta and firing into the top right corner.
