JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Lee Bares and junior Trevor Touchton were the first competitors for the Army West Point track and field teams at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday. Both posted marks that rank in the top three individually for them lifetime.
Bares competed in the Pole Vault and reached 5.25 meters. It was his second-highest vault, trailing only his school-record of 5.31 meters. It placed him 16th in the 48 man grouping and was nearly good enough for the top 12 and a trip to Oregon for the NCAA Championships.
