WEST POINT, N.Y. – During a luncheon on Wednesday afternoon the Army West Point men's soccer team was recognized for numerous academic achievements during the fall semester.
The program's head officer representative, Col. Joe Hanus ran the ceremony but was joined by head coach Russell Payne and his staff.
"Our men's soccer team's recognition ceremony for academic and military achievements is another opportunity for the program to celebrate excellence in all areas," Payne said. "It's also another chance to reaffirm our positive team culture from plebes to firsties".
The first honor of the day went to junior Marcos Arroyo, who received the gold star with a wreath after earning the Superintendent Award for Excellence.
