GÄVLE, Sweden (7/11/19) – On Friday in the final round of the women’s discus throw at the European U23 Championships, Arkansas State’s Babette Vandeput concluded action in Sweden, finishing 11th in the event.
Vandeput’s best throw came on her first attempt, as she hurled the implement 49.67m (162-11.0) as the first thrower of the day. The sophomore’s third attempt measured 46.87m (153-9.0) to conclude her week in Sweden.
The sophomore advanced to Friday’s final with a season-best throw of 51.91m (170-3.0) on Thursday, which improved her lead atop the Belgian U23 ranks in 2019.
