UALR stays hot, turns back UAPB

The feeling on the team bus heading back from Lafayette, La., on Sunday evening was pretty easy to describe for UALR center fielder Hunter Owens.

"Everybody had a good energy," he said.

Fresh off a series victory over then-nationally ranked and Sun Belt Conference favorite Louisiana-Lafayette, the UALR baseball team aimed to keep that going in a nonconference game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Gary Hogan Field on Tuesday night.

After two errors put the Trojans in an early hole, a double play got them out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning and Cameron Knight gave them the lead with a sixth-inning home run to left.
