NEW ORLEANS, La. (4/12/17) – Pole vaulter Michael Carr, hurdler Shemiah Brooks and thrower Erin Farmer of the Arkansas State track and field program each received weekly honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
Farmer, the Female Field Athlete of the Week, improved her own school record in shot put to 17.93m (58-10.00) to win the Sun Angel Classic. The throw ranks her third nationally and atop the Sun Belt Conference and NCAA West Region performance lists.
Carr, named the Male Field Athlete of the Week, posted a personal-best pole vault of 5.22m (17-01.50) to take first place in the Sun Angel Classic.
