JONESBORO -- South Alabama was able to convert an unlikely four-point play with just 2.8 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime, where the Jaguars outscored Arkansas State 9-5 to secure a 92-88 victory Saturday afternoon at First National Bank Arena.

Arkansas State led 83-79 after Matt Hayman split a pair of free throws with seven seconds left. Needing a miracle, South Alabama guard Chaze Harris raced up the floor.

As he neared the three-point line on the right wing, Hayman bumped him slightly and Harris heaved up a wild, off-balance shot that found the bottom of the net as the whistle was blown for the foul.
