notched his 140th career RBI to set the school record and also picked up his 200th career hit, but A-State allowed a season-high 21 hits in a 15-3 setback to No. 23 UT Arlington Saturday night at Tomlinson Stadium.
The Red Wolves (22-23, 10-13 SBC) plated their first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth on the run-scoring single by Schrimpf that scored Drew Tipton. Schrimpf had tied Todd Baumgartner for the program record of 139 RBI last night before the fifth-inning RBI pushed him to 140. Schrimpf later collected his 200th hit in the bottom of the seventh to become the eighth player in A-State history to accomplish the feat.
