JONESBORO, Ark. (8/29/16) – A pair of Arkansas State seniors were honored with Sun Belt Conference weekly awards as Markie Schaedig was named Defensive Player of the Week and Mallory Warrington earned Setter of the Week recognition per an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.
A native of Little Rock, Ark., Schaedig continued her excellent defensive career at A-State with 60 digs (5.45 per set) across three matches during the TCU Invitational to open the 2016 season. She recorded 19 digs in each of the Red Wolves’ 3-0 wins over Northwestern State and North Carolina State before adding 22 more in the team’s final match of the tournament against TCU.
