Red Wolves win with a wild finish

JONESBORO -- In a wild fourth quarter that saw a combined 41 points scored, a simple extra point by Clune Van Andel proved to be the difference as Arkansas State ended its four-game losing streak with a dramatic 31-30 victory over Texas State on Saturday afternoon.

The final extra point followed a six-play, 75-yard game-winning drive that took just 53 seconds and was capped by a 4-yard touchdown run by ASU quarterback Jaylen Raynor with seven seconds left in the game that sent the announced crowd of 15,841 into a frenzy at Centennial Bank Stadium.

"The fans that didn't show up and the negative fans, they just missed arguably one of the greatest wins in Arkansas State football history," ASU Coach Butch Jones said.
