In the first inning, Ty White walked to lead things off for the Red Wolves. Joe Schrimpf laid down a sacrifice bunt, which advanced White to second. White then stole third, but was left stranded on the corner to end the first.
After bringing a run home in the first, UAB scored again in the second inning on an RBI single, increasing their lead to 2-0.
The Red Wolves saw some action in the third inning, loading the bases with one out for Tanner Ring. Ring singled one to left field, sending Jeremy Brown home to cut the lead in half.
