MEMPHIS — Facing a fourth and 4 from the Memphis 11 early in the third quarter, Arkansas State University Coach Blake Anderson had a decision to make: Go for it and try to tie the game with a touchdown, or take the points with a 28-yard field.
Anderson chose the latter, cutting Memphis’ lead to 21-17.
The aggressiveness came moments later — and failed.
An unsuccessful surprise onside kick by ASU helped Memphis respond with a quick touchdown, and then a Red Wolves fumble led to another Memphis touchdown.
