Arkansas State remains in a three-way tie with Georgia Southern and Georgia State atop the Sun Belt Conference standings. Coastal Carolina saw its record move to 11-13 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
“A big key for us was to try to control tempo today and to make sure they don’t get fast break baskets by making sure we don’t shoot too quick,” said A-State head coach Grant McCasland. “I felt like we did what we needed to do pace-wise in order to continue to get good looks and not turn the ball over allowing them to transition baskets.
