Red Wolves’ Comeback Falls Short To Memphis

JONESBORO, Ark. (9/11/21) – Driving down the field in the final seconds seeking a come-from-behind win, a deep pass to the end zone fell incomplete for the Arkansas State football team, which dropped a 55-50 decision to Memphis Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium.

Fans of offensive outbursts were satisfied, with the teams combining for 1,361 total yards, as A-State (1-1) out-gained the Tigers (2-0) by one yard, 681-680. The Red Wolves racked up a single-game record 584 yards through the air while Memphis recorded 417 passing yards to 263 yards on the ground.

"I'm really proud of our players," head coach Butch Jones said.
