The team had trouble getting shots to go in the first quarter, making only 2 of their first 11 shot attempts. They’d quickly switch gears in the second, however, scoring 14 unanswered on their way to a 39-20 halftime lead.
A-State limited Georgia Southern to a lowly .200 field goal percentage in the second quarter, allowing a mere seven points.
“That second quarter defensively was phenomenal,” Coach Brian Boyer said.
