TROPHY CLUB, Texas (3/14/16) – True freshman Aracelly Jimenez Rios finished the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invitational’s first two rounds Monday tied for first place, leading the Arkansas State women’s golf team to a tie for seventh place among 20 teams at the Trophy Club Country Club.
The Red Wolves recorded a first-round 301, which tied its lowest score this spring and fourth lowest of the season. A-State followed with a 305 for the second 18 holes, giving it a combined 606 that left it tied with North Dakota State entering tomorrow’s final round.
Arkansas State is currently two strokes behind fifth-place Georgetown and Southern Illinois, while it is within seven strokes of fourth-place Bowling Green.
