MOBILE, Ala. -- The comeback slipped away from Arkansas State University's grip, falling away as the football was jarred loose from Justice Hansen's diving frame.
The redshirt junior quarterback had been flushed from the pocket on third and goal, searching for a receiver down 24-19 to South Alabama with 5:18 left in the game, when he lowered his shoulder and veered toward the goal line.
The lead, the victory, perhaps an outright Sun Belt Conference title awaited on the other side of the white line.
