Huren Wins MVP as @AStateBowling Remains First at Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. (3/18/17) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team posted a 5-0 record in the second day of the Columbia 300 Music City Classic and remained atop the event’s leaderboard as Julia Huren claimed the tournament MVP honors with the highest score in the individual standings.

Huren, a freshman from Westland, Mich., earned her first career all-tournament team and MVP honors with a total pinfall of 1,140 for a 228 per game average in a field that featured 237 bowlers. All five of A-State’s bowlers finished in the top 50 of the individual standings.

“It’s a great accomplishment for Julia to win the MVP as a freshman in any event,” A-State head women’s bowling coach Justin Kostick said.
