NEW ORLEANS, La. (5/21/18) – Arkansas State senior thrower Calea Carr was named Sun Belt Conference Track & Field Women’s Field Outstanding Performer and head coach Jim Patchell was named SBC Men’s Coach of the Year, the league office announced Tuesday.
Carr was the high point scorer at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships with 24 points. She won the shot put competition on Sunday with a throw of 15.61m (51-02.75), the second ranked throw in program history. She placed second in the discus throw (51.22m/168-00) and third in the hammer throw (55.90m/183-05) to round out her exceptional weekend.
