ASU rallies twice but comes up short

Arkansas State scored three runs in both the fifth and seventh innings while getting home runs from Tanner Ring and Matt Burgess in Tuesday's loss to Southeast Missouri State at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro.

The Red Wolves took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double from Joe Schrimpf, but the Redhawks (23-10) answered with a two-run home run from Chris Osborne. A two-run triple from Brian Lees in the fourth inning increased the lead to 4-1, and it grew to 5-1 when Branden Boggetto scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.
