ASU overcomes cold shooting

Aundrea Gamble scored 20 points, and Arkansas State improved to 11-0 in the Sun Belt Conference with a 58-51 victory over South Alabama on Thursday night at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.

The Red Wolves (17-3) have won 21 consecutive games at home.

Gamble was one of three Red Wolves to score at least 10 points. Khadija Brown-Haywood had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Amanda Lawson added 10 points for ASU, which won despite shooting 28.4 percent (19 of 67) from the floor.

“We are happy to get another win and just keep moving forward,” ASU Coach Brian Boyer said.
