Blake Anderson will begin his third spring practice as Arkansas State coach today, but some key faces that helped the Red Wolves to bowl games in his first two seasons will not.
Three assistant coaches on Anderson's original staff in 2014 won't be with him for the first of 14 practices today, nor will a slew of offensive skill players who helped the Red Wolves set a Sun Belt Conference scoring record last season -- most notably quarterback Fredi Knighten, receiver J.D. McKissic and running back Michael Gordon.
"I think it has to be a new beginning," Anderson said.
