ASU fails to keep up with Troy

NEW ORLEANS -- The Arkansas State women's basketball team traveled to Lakefront Arena with hopes of avenging losses in the previous two Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship games.

The Red Wolves latest trip ended before even getting there.

Top-seeded ASU fell one game short of playing for the title when Troy set a pace the Red Wolves could not keep up with in a 96-89 victory in Friday's semifinals.

The Trojans (19-12), the Sun Belt's top scoring team at 82.0 points per game, shot 48.1 percent from the floor (37 of 77) and tied a season-high with 12 three-pointers in beating the Red Wolves, who had won 20 of their past 21 games -- including victories by 20 and 14 points over the Trojans.
