@AStateSoccer Falls to Coastal Carolina in SBC Tournament

FOLEY, Ala. (11/2/16) – The Arkansas State women’s soccer team had its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Coastal Carolina in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament Wednesday afternoon at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.

The Chanticleers scored three goals in the in the second half and held the Red Wolves to one shot on goal on the afternoon to advance to the semifinals on Friday. A-State ends the season with a 6-8-3 overall record, while Coastal Carolina improves to 11-5-3.

The teams battled through a scoreless first half, but Coastal Carolina opened up the second half of play with an attacking mindset and found success with three shots in the first eight minutes of the frame.
