JONESBORO, Ark. (9/11/16) – The Arkansas State women’s soccer team enjoyed it’s biggest offensive output of the season in a 3-2 victory over Mississippi Valley State at the A-State Soccer Park Sunday afternoon.
The game was scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play, but saw a flurry of action at the start of the second half that resulted in five goals in a 20 minute span before things cooled off and the Red Wolves (2-2-2) returned to their sound defensive efforts to close out the match.
Mississippi Valley State struck first with a goal off the foot Laadi Issaka just 46 seconds into the second half, but A-State answered less than a minute later when Arianna Delli Carpini was fouled inside the 18-yard box and scored on the subsequent penalty kick to tie the game at one goal apiece.
