JONESBORO, Ark. (8/29/17) – Arkansas State senior Alex Howard was named a Rawlings Honorable Mention Summer Collegiate All-American by Perfect Game in an announcement recently by the organization.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Howard excelled in the Northwoods League for the Battle Creek Bombers as he hit .333 with a .396 on-base percentage and .558 slugging percentage. Additionally, he swatted league-high 27 doubles in the regular season, which was six more than the next closest player, and the 27 two baggers were the most of any player named to the Summer Collegiate All-American Teams.
Howard, who played third base last season for the Red Wolves, played shortstop for the Bombers and helped Battle Creek advance to the Northwoods League World Series.
