A-State Tennis Opens Strong at UCA Fall Invite

CONWAY, Ark. (9/29/16) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team enjoyed a successful first day at the UCA Fall Invitational Friday afternoon by winning eight out of a possible 12 matches.

In the singles’ draw Victoria Roberts, Allison Quammen and Julie Gauguery all earned victories to advance in their respective draws. Roberts battled back from a 6-1 loss in the opening set against Petya Simenova of Oral Roberts, to take the final set 6-3 and then won the tie break 10-5.

Gauguery advanced on the top flight with an impressive 6-3, 6-2 win over Northeastern State’s Molly Worden, while Quammen downed SEMO’s Joanne Hollings 6-1, 6-1.
