CARBONDALE, Ill. (9/18/16) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team opened the 2016 fall tournament season by competing in the SIU Saluki Invite on the campus of the Southern Illinois Sunday afternoon.
The Red Wolves posted strong showings in the first competitive action of the season with several players earning victories throughout their flights on the day. Junior Sabina Jeresic had the best showing of the day by winning her flight with a pair of difficult matchups against opponents from Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri.
She won her first match of the day with a 4-6, 6-2 (10-7) over the Saluki’s Victoria Beirao and then took home the championship with a straight set 6-0, 6-1 over the RedHawks Annisa Warasanti.
