A-State Tennis Falters; Gauguery Wins Third Straight

RICMOND, Ky. (2/18/17) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis tea dropped a 6-1 decision to Eastern Kentucky to conclude it two-match road swing through the state of Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Wolves were competitive in the doubles’ point and captured a one point victory in the No. 1 pairing thanks to the play of Julie Gauguery and Shannon O’Brien. The senior/freshman pairing defeated the Colonels Laura Argente and Raquel Montalvo 7-6.

A-State battled tough in the other two matches but failed to capture the doubles’ point in two close losses. Sabina Jeresic and Victoria Pisani lost to Viktorija Demcenkova and Sagung Putri Dwinta 6-4, while Allison Quammen and Troi Roberts fell to Marina Marti and Kristina Lagoda 6-3.
