FORT MYERS, Fla. (1/17/16) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis teamed earned three victories on the second day of competition at the FGCU Spring Invite on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Shelby King, sophomore Sabina Jeresic and junior Julie Gauguery all earned in their respective draws on the day. King, who competed in the tournament’s top draw, defeated Northwestern State’s Iryna Varadanian 6-2, 6-1, but dropped her next match to Carolin Drescher (Southern Miss) 3-6, 6-4, 10-6).
Jeresic began the day with an impressive straight set 6-0, 6-0 win over Alzbeta Veverkova (Northwestern State).
