CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (10/3/16) – Beth Ann Compton completed the MVC Preview’s first two rounds Monday tied for first place, leading the Arkansas State women’s golf team to a third-place standing through 36 holes of competition at the two-day tournament.
The Red Wolves shot an opening-round 301 before cutting 10 strokes off that total for the second 18 holes, giving them a combined 593 that left them just six strokes behind second-place UMKC. Murray State posted a combined 581 to lead the 14-team field.
Compton is in a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard with Wichita State’s Taryn Torgerson and UMKC’s Cynthia Diaz.
