A-State Stands Second at Duck Commander Intercollegiate

EL DORADO, Ark. (10/29/17) – The defending Duck Commander Intercollegiate champions, the Arkansas State men’s golf team ended the first round of this year’s event Sunday in second place among 12 teams after shooting a 303 at the Mystic Golf Club.

Led by four players currently among the top 21 individual leaders, the Red Wolves completed the first 18 holes with a two-stroke lead over third-place Western Kentucky and only one stroke behind leader ULM.

A-State was paced by Jakub Bares and Tanner Napier, both carding a 75 to place them in a tie for ninth. Only one stroke behind them, Joel Wendin is tied for 16th place and Trent Jones is tied for 21st with a 77.
