A-State Stands Fourth at SBC Championships

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (4/17/17) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team began play Monday at the Sun Belt Conference Championships by posting its second best single-round score this season, a 293 that placed it fourth among the league’s 10 competing teams.

The Red Wolves were led by three players currently among the top 10 individual leaders and will enter tomorrow’s second round on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Fighting Joe course trailing third-place Little Rock by just two strokes. Texas State sits in first place after recording a 285, while Troy stands second with a 287.

Senior Maci Brooks and sophomore Emma Miller both completed the day tied for sixth place, helping A-State shoot its 293 that is just two strokes above its season-best score of 291 posted at the MVC Preview on Oct.
