A-State Stands First at ORU Shootout, Napier atop Leaderboard

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (4/11/16) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team shot a combined 583 Monday at the Forest Ridge Country Club, completing the ORU Shootout’s opening two rounds in first place among 11 teams.

The Red Wolves posted a 294 and 289 for the first and second rounds, respectively, grabbing a three-stroke lead over second-place Central Arkansas through 36 holes of competition. A-State was led by four players finishing the first day among the top 20 leaders, including senior Oswin Schlenkrich in first place.

Schlenkrich began play with a 71 and followed with a 70, giving him a 141 total and four-stroke advantage over second-place Louis Tomlinson of Central Arkansas and Sam Stevens of Oklahoma State.
