CONWAY, S.C. (9/16/16) – The Arkansas State women’s soccer dropped its Sun Belt Conference opener to Coastal Carolina 4-0 Friday afternoon at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
A-State (2-3-2, 0-1 SBC) sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Ponder made 10 saves on the night as the Chanticleers landed 14 of their 18 shots on goal. It is the second time this season that Ponder has had double-digit saves in a game.
Coastal Carolina scored goals in the fifth, 21st, 80th and 84th minutes to build its lead. The first goal came off the foot of Daniella Famili, while Brooke Horist and Alexis Siegel scored the next two goal.
