A-State Signs Mexico Native Atristain Vega

JONESBORO, Ark. (11/21/16) – Arkansas State head women’s golf coach M.J. Desbiens Shaw has announced that Maria Jose Atristain Vega, ranked No. 1 in the Southeast Mexican Golf Association and No. 18 in the nation of Mexico (16/18 years old), has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Red Wolves beginning with the 2017-18 season.

The Merida, Mexico, native recently claimed four first-place finishes, including the PJGT GGGA Series at Mission Inn El Campeon (71-79), Southeast Golf Tour at the Cancun Country Club (73-74), Southeast Golf Tour at the Yucatan County Club (69-77) and Southeast Golf Tour at Campestrea Villahermosa (74-73).
