A-State Opens Play at Kansas City Shootout

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (4/4/16) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team began play Monday at the Kansas City Shootout, posting a combined 631 to complete the tournament’s first two rounds at the Shoal Creek Golf Club in ninth place among 13 teams.

The Red Wolves were led by two players who finished the tournament’s first day among the top 25 leaders, including Aracelly Jimenez Rios in a tie for 22nd place and Emma Miller in a tie for 25th. Jimenez Rios posted a combined 155 (77-78), while Miller recorded a 156 (80-76).

A-State ended the first round in seventh place after posting a 315, but dropped to ninth after posting a 316 for the second 18 holes.
