FOLEY, Ala. (11/1/17) – The Arkansas State women’s soccer team failed to advance to the semifinal round after Little Rock defeated the Red Wolves 3-1 on penalty kicks in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament Wednesday morning at the Foley Sports and Tourism Complex.
The score was tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods forced the match to be decided on penalty kicks. Little Rock converted three of its four chances, while Arkansas State (9-6-2) managed to score on one in tough conditions that had both teams kicking against the wind.
Arkansas State struck first in the 55th minute when Dana O’Boye put in a header off a deflection from a Tayler Carter corner kick.
