BENTONVILLE — It has been more than a month since Arkansas announced the much anticipated hire of Remy Cofield as its first ever general manager.
While many schools have created sport-specific GM positions, the Razorbacks went against the grain by bringing in one person to lead the group in charge of distributing $20.5 million of revenue sharing amongst their various sports.
They aren’t alone in making such a move — Maryland and Virginia have also gone that route — but they are seemingly in the minority.
For the first time since announcing Cofield’s hire, Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek discussed his decision with a handful of reporters before the first stop of the One Razorback Roadshow at Brother’s Meethouse in Bentonville.
